Harare Sports Club on top

HARARE Sports Club lead the National Rugby League log standings after round two of the games following their 56-12 defeat of Old Miltonians at Hartsfield Rugby Grounds on Saturday.

The loss for OMs, which was their second, leaves them third from the bottom of the log with one point which they were awarded when they lost to Western Panthers in the previous week.

Last week Panthers beat OMs 21-15. It was a nightmare for Panthers who were the first to face defending champions Old Hararians as they were walloped 87-3.

Old Hararians are third on the log following their win with five points with Western Panthers on four points in sixth position.

Harare-based teams have always dominated the NRL with last week’s lopsided score lines proving that they might dominate this season as well.
Last weekend Old Georgians beat Mutare Sports Club 86-3 with Harare Sports Club winning 86-0 against Zvishavane Bulls.

Zvishavane Bulls suffered their second loss 19-43 against Gweru Sports Club in Gweru.

The Zvishavane-based side are anchored at the bottom of the log and are still to get off the mark with Mutare also without a point, but above on a superior goal difference.

Gweru Sports Club are tied on points with Old Hararians and Old Georgians who are third and fourth respectively while the Gweru team is in fifth place.

Bulawayo-based Matabeleland Busters registered their second win of the season when they beat Mutare 29-3. Busters are separated from the log leaders by goal difference but they are also on 10 points.
