Lions Club elects new President
Popular food outlet Chicken inn’s Operations manager Philip Kaiyo has been elected as the new President for Lions Gweru club, following the constitutional expiry of the former president, Sharai Sibanda’s tenure.
In his speech as incoming President Philip Kaiyo said it w about being the Lion President b the Lions family closer.
”It’s not all about being president but its showing kindness to others which resembles a powerful source of happiness, in doing this we develop a heart of gratitude to God, ”said Kaiyo.
Kaiyo added that it will be good for others to join the Lions Club so that they may help the community.
”I want to urge you to become a Lion today, I am asking for your support especially the incoming board in strengthening the pride, ”added Kaiyo.

Meanwhile, the Past District Governor (PDG) Ray Sibanda of the Lions District 412 which comprises of Zimbabwe Botswana, Malawi and Mozambique said the Lions club is part of the largest international club.
”The club has been assisting the Gweru community for the p years and will continue to work with Gweru therefore we are inviting all to come and join our club so that together we can make a difference in the community we live in,” said Sibanda.
The Lions club has sponsored a number of Leo’s clubs, in all secondary and tertiary institutions including Regina Mundi, Fletcher, Thornhill,

Midlands State University ,Edu-Care, Chaplin, St Patricks, Mkoba 1 High and Guinea Fowl.
Gweru Lions club was formed in 1960 and has been in involved in charity works around the city for the past 58 years.
It has made successive contributions to charity homes like Batanai old People’s, Blue Hills, and Mudavanhu School for the Mentally Challenged.
